Celestun Biosphere Wildlife Reserve in Yucatan is the home of thousands of beautiful and elegant flamingos. 426 different bird species have been registered in addition to hundreds of mammal species.
The day we visited Celestun, there were about 10 people in our group, we boarded the boat through an ample lagoon surrounded with dense vegetation. The first bird we saw was a blue heron sitting on a fisherman’s boat, it appeared to be welcoming us and posing for pictures.
